Prada Chinese Kungfu Film

Prada0125China is becoming increasingly the favor of the international luxury brands. This time, Prada invited the Chinese video and artist Yang Fudong to shoot the scene. The scene is still the old Shanghai street. The large traffic light which I saw in kungfu. The swollen lips of Stephen Chow was in the film and then these two films might come on the same base. inside, it should be with a film base. In addition to the two models, Jacob Coupe and Adrien Sahores, you can also see Chinese actor Geng Le. Why is Geng Le? The film shooted by Yang Fudong is tastful. He can compete with those international renowned fashion photographers and also infuse Chinese things into the advertising campaign.

Prada presented “First Spring“, a short movie for the Prada Men Spring/Summer 2010 advertising campaign.

Mulberry Alexa Line

Mulberry0126Several days ago, I introduced Mulberry Alexa to you, which was named after Alexa Chung. Do you remember? To begin with Alexa Chung, she is becoming popular in many websites and now we can see that Net A Porter is holding the Alexa in yellow buffalo leather with a pink leopard print. It is a piece of smart investment which sits at the top of the list of so many trendy people. It got the inspiration by the poster girl for the London fashionista, Alexa Chung. The bag has the satchel-style design which reflects the low-key cool of the capital.

This Mulberry Alexa is really attractive for me. I love them for the reason that it has a downtown feel and I admire Alexa Chung and her style.

The History of Coach

090402-tracy-the-history-of-coach03The history of the Coach illustrates how this company has survived in the fickle fashion world through innovation, marketing and design. Since founded in 1941, Coach enjoys great popularity and maintains a profit margin several times higher than competitor designer brands. Nevertheless, not everything goes smoothly for the luxury handbag and accessories manufacturer. Although it did a marvelous feat for so many years, in the middle and late 1990s, Coach witnessed a dramatic recession in sales.

Coach was founded in 1941 by 6 artisans under the name Manhattan Leather Bags. One of the company founders was impressed by the design of a baseball glove and it inspired him to create a handbag with similar attributes. In 1962, Coach hired Bonnie Cashin. Cashin breathed new life into the company. She was considered a pioneer in American sportswear due to her use of industrial hardware and organic materials such as leather, wool and jersey. Riding the success of Cashin’s creations, the company gets to one of the top luxury brands. Although the new items add many fashion elements compared with its previous conservative series, the company still runs in the traditional way.

090402-tracy-the-history-of-coach02

During 70s and 80s, the market demand for Coach Products greatly exceeded the supply. In 1985, Coach became part of Sara Lee and in 1979, Lew Frankfort, who today serves as Coach’s CEO, joined the company. Frankfort transformed Coach from a little-known leather goods manufacturer to a world-renowned brand. However, in the middle 90s, because of dramatic changes in working environment, business casual wear was big that time. But Coach still clinged to its outdated goods and did not offer the fashion products, such as leather and fabric bags. As a result, Coach failed to compete with Prada, Gucci and Kate Spade.090402-tracy-the-history-of-coach012

Faced with the challenge, Frankfort launched a series of expansions and innovations. He hired the newest designers who breathed new life into the company and changed the image of Coach from a sturdy, basic collection of tan, burgundy, black and navy briefcases, to a hip, stylish collection with new colors and styles every season, which greatly attracted a number of young people. Moreover, in the fashion world full of change, Coach put its new product on the market every year. Meanwhile, the company outsourced the manufacture and concentrated on product design and marketing. Therefore, at the end of 90s, Coach sprang up again.

Thereafter, the annual profits have been soaring. In 2006 its sales reached US$2.1. Keeping pace with the times is the key reason why this company shakes off the image of “only my grandmother buys Coach” and successfully survives in the fickle fashion world with soaring profits.

Jimmy Choo, Glass Shoe Dream

Launched in 1996, just over 10 years, Jimmy Choo has become the worldwide luxurious shoe brand. His shoes have been on the likes of the Princess of Wales. In HBO Sex and the City, women clamored for his sandals, pumps and boots once Carrie Bradshaw and her friends showed such an allegiance to Jimmy Choo brand.090401-santorini-jimmy-choo-glass-shoe-dream

Who is he? And why he is so popular? Let me tell you Jimmy Choo’s story. Jimmy Choo was born in 1961 in Malaysia to a family of shoemakers. He reportedly made his first pair of shoes at the age of 11. Then he came to London a decade ago to study footwear design at Cordwainers College- now part of the London College of Fashion — Choo began to sell his handmade couture footwear in the late 1980s. Before long, his client list included famous names like Princess Diana, but his one-of-a-kind, handcrafted creations were out of reach for most women. Until 1996, when Mellon approached him, his painstaking methods change to mass-marketing manufacture.

Jimmy Choo insists shoes are important to a woman’s overall look and balance, as well as today’s women requirement. Nowadays, women demand their beautiful walking shoes combing truly glamorous footwear with all the comfortable features, a far cry better than the comfort shoes their grandmother wore. That is just meet Jimmy Choo’s principle.

Look no further than the Clue, Jimmy Choo’s best selling shoe. They sell 10 to 1 compared to the other Jimmy Choo shoes, if not more. What made this $700 slingbacks so irresistible? Its comfort and beauty. When you walk into a room, it is your feet that carry your body. Jimmy Choo helps women to realize the glass shoe dream. Every lady wears it, and wish her Right Man comes soon.

Visiting Hermes in Venice

090428-visiting-hermes-in-venice-11In Italy, Hermes Venice is beside Louis Vuitton. While my Hermes collection merely contains a handful of scarves, Twilly’s, and a beautiful bracelet, I am on the hunt for a Birkin. The Hermes store in Venice is quaint, but still packs a big punch. Downstairs are all of the scarves, bracelets, and small goods, while upstairs there was clothing and of course, glorious bags. A lovely SA showed me around and delighted my arm with a Blue Jean Hermes Lindy, which I had a really hard time passing up. The only reason I opted not for the Lindy was for the sheer fact that I am anxiously waiting for a Hermes Blue Jean Birkin with Palladium Hardware. Insert drool here. A handful of Kelly’s were spotted here and there which still made my heart skip a few beats. In the store front window, a breathtaking Hermes Kelly in Orange Swift tantalized every passerby eyes. Hopefully, next time I am in Venice, I can walk into Hermes with my own Birkin in hand.

Victoria Beckham’s Hermes Kelly Longue

090428-victoria-beckhame28099s-hermes-kelly-longue-28Victoria loves the public eye. It is not as if Victoria tries to hide from the cameras, and really, her bright red dress was not toning it down at all. As she shopped on Rodeo Drive with pal Eva Longoria and son Romeo, the trio caused quite a stir. As they shopped in Versace, Dolce & Gabanna and Yves Saint Laurent, Victoria stayed true to her Hermes addiction and carried a Hermes Kelly Longue in Gold Swift leather. Her Hermes handbag collection seems endless; just as we spot her carrying one Birkin she pops out with a style we have never seen her with. The Kelly Longue was derived from the Hermes Kelly a couple seasons back. The bag is longer and thinner than the Kelly Pochette and rarer. Victoria’s Kelly Longue is made with Swift leather, but the Longue also is available in Box, Veau Doblis, Chevre Mysore, and Crocodile. Though, the exotic has only hit the runway and been seen on display, it is unsure if it will be sold. The price starts around $4,000. This handbag is a stunning classic, and while it is great for evening wear, it makes the perfect day clutch also. Victoria’s Hermes collection continues to take my breath away! I am not as keen on Eva Longoria’s Valentino Fleur Bag, but the Hermes bag makes up for it.

Timeless Hermes Bags

090428-timeless-hermes-bags-27In the economic recession, Hermes dose not offering anything on the runway that brought a new and wacky punch, but offering us a taste of refined style that they are known for in Fall 2008. Coats and jackets took precedence on the Paris runway, which were pulled together with oversized belts pulled tight at the waist. The color palette was monochromatic yet timeless. There was a sense of stability during the show, as the models gracefully made their way down the runway accessorized with knit caps and scarves. The handbags stayed true to Hermes, but added an urban chic touch with the reinterpreted Hermes Kelly worn as a messenger bag at the hip, named the Hermes Jypsiere. Many say Hermes played it safe, but it was more about being classic than safe to me. The Hermes Fall 2008 line is timeless, just as the brand itself.
